Miriam Halahmy is a poet, novelist, short story writer, workshop facilitator, editor, and writing mentor.

As one of the invited artists taking part in the 2006 Bob and Roberta Smith Brick Lane Gallery Peace Camp, Miriam created the 'Wall for Peace' by asking participants and visitors were asked to write their own thoughts on peace and post them on the Gallery wall  (Wednesday 20 December, 2006) .

She has been a Writing Mentor for the Medical Foundation for the Victims of Torture, and she is a member of the Society of Authors, English PEN, British SCBWI for children's writers, Highgate Poets, and Lapidus. Most recently, Miriam taught an insightful workshop Turning Memoir into Fiction at the 2010 Jewish Book Festival (10 a.m. March 5th ,2010 at the Royal National Hotel).

To celebrate the first Quaker Peace Testimony in 1660/1, join us in the Quaker Centre as the West Euston Time Bank Purple Poets and Friends (including the Third Age Project's Drama Group, the February Workshop, Miriam Halahmy, Sue Blundell, Heather Spears and Barry Cole) read their own found poetry taken from the Peace collections in Friends House Library.

Our special guest artist Jo WOnder will present her own 'found poetry' Peace collage to the Quaker Centre Library inspired by Quaker texts selected by Kim Morrissey.
