An unidentified Chenies Street
Chambers Children's Party, at the Drill Hall (across the street), circa
1950. Chenies Street Chambers was filled with children in the early 1950's
, when it was rebuilt and turned into a Council Building for people needing
subsidized housing. These series of photographs have at least thirty children
in them, all residing in Chenies Street chambers. Two of the oridinal children
still live in the building, Patsy Futatsugi (nee Morten) and Diana Lesardi.
The photograph also shows Patsy's mother, Pat Morten, standing beside her.
Mrs King was also a resident when these photgraphs were taken, but was not
present. One of Mrs. Ida DeMaggio's children, Rena, is in the photographs,
but no longer resides in the building.
Another photograph of the children
of Chenies Street Chambers
at a Party, fomr the collection of long-time resident, Mrs. Ida
DeMaggio.
Athird photograph from the same
gathering
possibly a Christmas Party at the Drill Hall, Chenies Street
(before the Drill Hall became a theatre).
