POEMS FOR
SAINT DAVID'S DAY

Saint David Would be Proud

SAINT DAVID WOULD BE PROUD

Like David and Goliath
Wales slings its best shot
giving us the best sea-views
the best lamb, the best poet
the best ruin, the best castle
the best king-in-waiting
and, if you are the sort of person
who reads BBC credits
definitely the best home
(circa 2006)
for Doctor Who

DAFFODILS HAIKU

plastic packaging from Wales
each bloom calls me home.
