SHAME
by Babushka
29.03.2007
Oh, the ignominy, the shame,
When slavery to Eden came
Oh the suffering, the pain,
Fueled by financial gain -
Lives destroyed for sugar cane!

RACISM
by Carol Moon
22.03.2007
Japanese?
What did they do to their prisoners of war?
Black
Kill the bastards!
A Paki?
Eat with us? You must be joking.
An Indian?
Untouchables?
A Russian?
And how is the gulag these days?
A German?
The Hun. Think Auschwitz. Think Ravensbruck.
English?
Perfect.

THE PEOPLE
ARE WE DIFFERENT
by Patsy Futatsugi
22.03.2007
The People -- are we different?
Do we have to be so scared
Of different races
Different colours
Why is this so?
What started it all?
Was it the governments
Of the world
Who wanted to divide us.
So much has happened way back
That we can't
Believe the pain is caused
And put the mankind back. |

LIONS AND LAMBS
by Babushka
22.03.2007
Are we equal, in this day and age?
When the lion lies down with the lamb
Does the lamb get up again?
It should be, it could be
For we're all the same
Under the skin.
One day we'll be more enlightened
Fear and hatred will be no more.

TWO WORDS
By Mohammed Serajul Islam Molla
20.07.2006
Two words have never changed.
Slavery and Prostitution will never stop.
They will appear every time in different forms
Leaders, politicians, try to stop
But every attempt goes flop!
Come on Bush, Blair, Mugabe
When will you end up suggesting
To stop the Abolition of slavery? |
Third Draft:
WHAT DO YOU SEE?
by Ferdous Rahman
03.05.2007
Don't see me as a colour
Don't see me as a gender
Think about my contribution
Treat me as a scholar.
We are part of the race
Live together with grace
Multi-cultural and multi-faith
Chemistry blended with multi-taste.
The colour of saffron infuse with spice
Fragrance of food floating in the breeze
Tingling the taste buds, that's how I see
Today's multi-racial Britain.
Second Draft:
WHAT DO YOU SEE?
by Ferdous Rahman

Don't see me as a colour
Don't see me as a gender
Think about my contribution
Treat me as a scholar
We are part of the race
Live together with grace
Multi-cultural
With multi-taste
Fragrance of food floating in the breeze
Fusion of spices the colour of saffron
Tingling the taste buds, that's how I see
Today's multi-cultural Britain
First Draft:
WHAT DO YOU SEE?
by Ferdous Rahman
22.03.2007
Don't see me as a colour
Don't see me as a gender
But think about my contribution
See me as a scholar
We are part of the race
Live together with grace
Multi-cultural with multi-taste
Fragrance of food floating ....
