Bithi introduces the Purple Poets
Babushka
Cats
CATS
By Babushka
22.03.2007
Silken fur and velvet paws
Hear the thunderous applause
Of purring, purring, purring.
Green eyes glowing, can it be
This tiger wants to sit with me?
When I waken, how many
Will
there be,
Warm little bodies, snuggled
Up
to me?

From My Window
FROM MY
WINDOW
by Bithi Das
October 2005
From my window I see my Garden, it needs tidy up
I like to be in my garden because it needs me.
In my Garden, I see a robin who sings non-stop
To cheer me up.
Carol
Gardens
GARDENS
by Carol Moon
4 November 2005
she hasn't left any food out again not on the
blue and white place
drat that cat he's dirty again and looks so he's probably ripped one
of me apart like he did last week but there she is good it's bread
and nuts she looks cold and old and lonely though queer because
the house is big but it's not as comfortable as my house so maybe
I should do a warble through the window pane for her
Eileen
Strawberries
STRAWBERRIES
By Eileen Frances
31.05.2007
Strawberries are like a glimpse of summer.
The colour and taste
Makes me come alive.
The thought of days by the river
Fishing, time to watch nature
In all its glory
Then strawberries and cream for tea.

What Do You
See
WHAT DO YOU SEE?
by Ferdous Rahman
03.05.2007
Don't see me as a colour
Don't see me as a gender
Think about my contribution
Treat me as a scholar
We are part of the race
Live together with grace
Multi-cultural and multi-faith
Chemistry blended with multi-taste
The colour of saffron infuse with spice
Fragrance of food floating in the breeze
Tingling the taste buds, that's how I see
Today's multi-racial Britain.

First Visit to My Parish Church in Ogle Street
MY FIRST VISIT
TO MY PARISH CHURCH
IN OGLE STREET
by Eppie Caredda
20.07.2006
Here in this parish church
There came comforting thought
Someone is here whose love
My
spirit sought.
Here in this parish church,
Love-filled I did rejoice;
And listen
To
his tender voice
Here in this parish church
He said when will you start -
When will you give me -
All
your heart?

The Existence of Love
THE EXISTENCE OF
LOVE
by Serajul Islam Molla
20.02.2007
Love has no language.
Who says this is a liar.
Call him.
I want to see his face.
I shall ask an explanation of him.
If he fails to make me satisfied
I shall slap him.
Love makes you great,
Magnanimous and honest.
Without it, you are nobody!
Because of the existence of love
The world is still wonderful.
Without Love, Life is barren and useless
Good for nothing.
Without Love
The word 'Life'
has no meaning.
Kathy
Mothers
MOTHERS
by Kathy Randle
23.03.2006
A mother is constant, loving, caring
Like a soft warm cushion
That you can snuggle up to
And forget the world.
A mother lets you know
How much you are loved.
Patsy
After the War
AFTER THE WAR
By Patsy Futatsugi
22.07.2006
My mother worked in a sweet shop
And every Friday she brought me
My special treat. Fuller's Chocolates .
Round with bits of purple and red
Square nougat, sugared almonds
Walnuts covered in Dark and Milk
Chocolate. They were just there
Every Friday when she was paid.
One Friday my mother forgot
I remember screaming
Kicking and crying
"Where's my bloody chocolates"
And being put to bed without supper.
The next Friday she came home
With more glossy, shiny,
Gooey chocolates.
Glossy, shiny, creamy,
Milky, syrupy-sweet
Smearing on the hands and face
Of a five year old
Melting in my mouth.

Imagine Rose Dancing
Rose Hacker's Dance Performance
Bloomsbury, February 24, 2007
IMAGINE ROSE DANCING
By Kim Morrissey
03.03.2007
Imagine Rose dancing
white lace at her throat
dark dress falling shoulders
to floor
the lights catching stage dust
the slow curve of thin wrists
suspended
Rose dancing,
still turning heads
each breath that she takes
lemon-sweet
imagine Rose dancing
to one-hundred-and-one
imagine Rose dancing
and dance!
END OF PROGRAMME:
Kathy and Islam present Rose Hacker with
Flowers.
